The earliest of my Scottish ancestors were agricultural labourers in remote parts Scotland. Their first migrations were to the towns and cities where they became tradesmen and servants. This tapestry shows the hard, rocky land they left behind, perhaps with nostalgia or perhaps with no regrets.
